In line to emulate their girls team success the GIHS Boys Under 17 start their campaign on a winning note. They beat first time participant ever the Ajman Indian School in the boys Under 17 by a margin of 6 wicket and 5.1 overs to spare in the 6^th edition of the Maxtalent Global Vision cup, a pan UAE inter school cricket tournament, organised under tha aegis of sharjah cricket council.

Winning the toss, GIHS chose to test the batting line up of Ajman Indian School. Two players of contrasting nature, Mahendra Kumar and Sharath Nair opened the batting. Sharath scored 18 off 12 balls and Mahendra scored 18 off 28. The middle order failed to deliver as the bowling attack of imposed their authority. Skipper Oswin Crasta picked up 3 wickets for 19 runs from his 5 overs and Vaibhav Chobisa was unlucky not to pick up more wickets as he ended with 1/10 from his quota of 5 overs. Mohd Zeeshan came late down the order to score 21 off 26 balls to help manage Ajman Indian School reach a decent total of 109. GIHS looked more settled and at ease when they came into bat as Tanmay and Mohd Anas piled on the runs as they scored 22 and 20 respectively. Zahid ul Islam came in to finish off the GIHS innings in style as he scored 19 off 13 balls. GIHS reached the target of 110 in 17.4 over losing 4 wickets in the process. The only saving grace of the Ajman Indian School was Sharath Nair who along with his 18 off 12 balls which included the first six of the tournament, also picked up 3 wickets for 19 runs, for which he deservedly won the Max Way player of the Match award.
